Berks County Eats pays a visit to Stampede Barbecue (formerly Stampede Smokin’ Barbecue) at their new permanent location along Route 10 in Plowville for beef brisket and smoked turkey sandwiches and more signature ‘cue.

At the intersection of Routes 222 and 61 is one of Berks County’s busiest diners. We stopped at Crossroads for a breakfast both traditional and unique (LA cinnamon roll French toast, anyone?).
Afghan Chicken & Gyro opened in late 2017 offering halal fried chicken, gyros, burgers and more. As a dine-in restaurant, it wasn’t much, but for fast food take-out, it works.
Our final #NationalPizzaMonth review of the year takes us to Sophia’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria. Don’t let the location fool you (it’s a former gas station), Sophia’s has some of the best pizza in Berks County.
