At the intersection of Routes 222 and 61 is one of Berks County’s busiest diners. We stopped at Crossroads for a breakfast both traditional and unique (LA cinnamon roll French toast, anyone?).
Afghan Chicken & Gyro opened in late 2017 offering halal fried chicken, gyros, burgers and more. As a dine-in restaurant, it wasn’t much, but for fast food take-out, it works.
Our final #NationalPizzaMonth review of the year takes us to Sophia’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria. Don’t let the location fool you (it’s a former gas station), Sophia’s has some of the best pizza in Berks County.

Finding a good pizza on Sunday afternoon is harder than it sounds. Thankfully, there’s Esposito’s Restaurant & Pizzeria that is serving up great pies every day of the week.
Three years ago, Berks County Eats visited Willougbhy’s Bar & Grill. We returned to the restaurant, now Willoughby’s on Park, to experience the high-end steakhouse that it has become.
Cosa Pizzeria & Restaurant opened in May at the site of the former Basil along Fritztown Road in Sinking Spring. The Italian restaurant proved to us to be a worthy successor.
