Kutztown Restaurant Highlights

A college town with a rich culinary scene, Kutztown is home to some of the most popular restaurants in Berks County.

Like all college towns, there are plenty of places to grab pizza and sandwiches. Tommyboys offers some of the largest slices around while Mamma’s Delight is a favorite of the late-night crowd. At Mark’s Sandwich Shop, you can get cheesesteaks, flatbreads and an assortment of fried apps, including Dutch fries – a local specialty where the spuds are cut like potato chips.

Just outside town is Saucony Creek Brewing Company, the gastropub arm of the award-winning local brewery. And right next door is Ozgood’s, a neighborhood bar and grill that’s also family friendly.

Downtown has two great options for dinner and drinks. The Kutztown Tavern, home of Golden Avalanche Brewing Company, has their own take on elevated bar food while the K’Town Pub focuses its food menu on slow-cooked barbecue.

For something a little different, check out HIVE, a vegan eatery with a focus on local produce. Betty’s also has vegan and vegetarian options among their creative selection of wraps, sandwiches, salads and smoothies. For dessert, check out Pop’s Malt Shoppe, a retro eatery and ice cream parlor.
