Despite a thriving dining scene, restaurant closures are inevitable. Some close after a successful run, others never get off the ground, but all of them make an impression while they’re open. Here’s a look at the restaurants we have lost in 2026:

Letterman’s Diner
Kutztown
Letterman’s Diner, the classic Kutztown eatery, closed its doors on January 4 as the former owner has retired. The business has a new owner, with Selena’s Diner opening in the space in February.

City Girl Juice
Wyomissing
City Girl Juice has closed its Wyomissing location as the business focuses on the original location in Sinking Spring. The last day in Wyomissing was January 3. The Sinking Spring location for City Girl Juice is located next to Crave Cafe. Vinny G’s, a new pizza and sandwich shop from the Giannotti family, is slated to open in the space sometime in 2026.

La Abuela Mexican Restaurant
West Reading
La Abuela, which was the first Mexican restaurant on the Avenue when it opened, has closed its doors after a decade-long run. The restaurant closed sometime in early 2026. As of mid-February, the sign is down and paper is covering the windows as it appears a new restaurant could be coming soon to the space.
Borelli’s Creperie, Deli & Market
Flying Hills
Borelli’s, the combination market and sandwich shop in Flying Hills, is now closed. After opening in spring 2025 in the former Seasons Cafe, Borelli’s closed sometime in late 2025 or early 2026. There has been no announcement of a new business to take its place.
